Courage To Pray and Trust In God’s Providence

We are blessed to have Sister Cheryl DeGroat, my mom, provide us with another potent “shot” to fuel your soul. We all must develop a courageous willingness to trust in what God just does.  There is much Biblical evidence to support this Divine characteristic of the Godhead. Mom is invested in exposing real truth by expressing God’s Word to expel any error that may cause you to miss out on what being a child of God is all about. Be empowered living the Conqueror Lifestyle. Enjoy and stay in the race!

Prayer and Providence

There are two paths of communication between you and God:

(1) Searching the scriptures —the path by which God speaks to you.

(2) Prayer —the path by which you speak to God.

The Doctrine of Providence

Providence is different from preservation. The doctrine of Preservation is God’s work in upholding and supplying the needs of that which He has created i.e. sustainment.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

The doctrine of Providence is God’s continuous control over the entire physical and moral universe to fulfill His original intended purpose. His providence is:

1. Universal (because He is omnipresent)

2. Powerful (because He is omnipotent)

3. Wise (because He is omniscient)

 4. Holy (because He is Righteousness, Goodness, and Truth)

Prayer and Providence go hand in hand. The prayer of faith petitions God’s care and control over any issue at hand. God provides for us in overwhelmingly, gracious developments which only He can manifest.

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God and there is none like me.

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying my counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure. Isaiah 46:9-10 KJV

Always remember this – God’s Providence is already in place every time you pray. Have the courage to trust in the fact that He already knows the plans He has for you. Your prayers will expose your faith in Him.  You don’t have to know His plan for you to trust in Him. You have to know Him to trust in Him. Reading His Word regularly helps you get acquainted with who He is. The more you know Him the more you will possess the courage to trust in His providence.

By faith in Him, the Holy Spirit will open your eyes of understanding to see Him through His Word. Trust Him when you pray and stay in fellowship with Him through His Word. Consequently,  you too will know the plan as your walk, talk and lifestyle reveals His will for you. This is the Conqueror Lifestyle in action. Prayer changes things!

The next “shot” will focus on your courage as it is revealed through your faith. Faith is both objective and subjective.

Revival: The How & Why of It

How do Christians experience revival? What happens in them that causes such a need? I was presented these questions in a conversation yesterday. Relating this premise to HOPE requires a journey through the halls of my history. Along the way a journey back in Israel’s history relating with God will also serve to answer the questions.

You never know where inspiration is going to come from in God’s work. I try to never avoid situations where I need to get clarity on a particular matter. It’s been my experience that God’s Sovereignty over EVERY detail in my life affords me the ability to get the solution to any dilemma I encounter. You too have this same benefit if you are engaged in a Conqueror lifestyle today. It is amazing to me. His Sovereignty is most realized when we find that the answers come – sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly – as  we wait on Him, continue to read His Word, be as honest to ourselves and others as possible and maintain a steady flow of HOPE  from day to day.

The first question requires some personal identification to my own “REVIVAL” experiences. I know what it is to be an ACTIVE participant in Christianity and I know what it is to be an ACTIVE participant in sin. ACTIVE participation in Christianity keeps my spirit revived in three ways:

HOLY SPIRIT - FOIX
Coming Soon "QUALITIES OF A CONQUEROR"
  1. Prayer to God,through Christ and reading God’s Word, experiencing new life in me through the Holy Spirit.
  2. Regular fellowship with other Christians via worship service, Bible study and various gatherings.
  3. Consistent service to both Christians and non-Christians via ACTIVE participation in various ministries.

The condition of our spirits is well-maintained when these three ACTivities are in place in our weekly routines. Revival denotes a need for a “life source” to infuse its life into lifelessness.  When it is done properly, revival works. Otherwise, the lifelessness continues and the need for revival gradually becomes eliminated by death.   Spiritual revival is solely dependent on Spiritual Life.

The second question reminds me to review David’s situation in Psalms 85. This chapter, worth reading, gives us clarity on what happens when sin and disobedience to God’s Word are at hand. But it is REALLY important to notice the element of HOPE in God for restoration. That is key. Hopelessness is a subtle foe. It is a derivative of a sinful lifestyle. The Israelites were notorious for getting deliverance from God and then falling away from God and into the ways active sin.

SIN SEPARATES US FROM THE LIFE SOURCE.  REVIVAL RESTORES US TO THE LIFE SOURCE.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE LIFE SOURCE

The difference between me being an active participant in Christianity or an active participant in sin is CHOICE. This is why Jesus said:

Luke 16:13 “No servant can serve two masters ; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.”

Everyday you wake up you choose 🙂
